wao_wao came over and brought her DVDs with her this weekend. <3 Operation "Indoctrinate Jen With Soragumi" continues.

We didn't watch "Valencia", just the revue. But it was a good one. Lots of fun numbers. I think the Venus scenes were my favorite, followed by Saturn. Ume was awesome in the Mars number. Micchan's singing was love, and the etoile duet was !!!!! I think I have a new second-favorite etoile now. The dancing was really fun too, and there was all kinds of crazy energy in the group numbers. And Tomu x Tani slash is never a bad thing, even if one's roommate enters the room and one must not squeal too loudly. And there was so much love for Alice, who was right behind Tani in the opening number. <3 And love for Kotobuki Tsukasa just being awesome in general. And Yuumi Hiro continues to be a giant.

Tani is still not top star material to me, I'm afraid. But, gosh, I can't even remember that she's, what, ken-13? She just looks and feels so young. Eheh. And Ume! Oh, god. My eyes were glued to her in a kind of fascinated horror. There's thin, and there's Takarazuka thin, and then there's annorexic thin. :/ It was truly, truly disturbing. I'm super-sensitive about these kinds of things now (someone in my family was hospitalized for almost a month because of annorexia, and is still suffering from it, everyday of the rest of their lives), and I really wish these women weren't worked so hard and under such pressure all the time. It's just not healthy at all.

And, sorry, I didn't mean for this to turn into a rant. I really liked this revue. <3

To be honest, of the two of them I worry about Tani more in terms of being too thing.

I think it was that not only were her elbows wider than her biceps (sadly normal in Takarazuka), and not only were her clavicles jumping out of her skin (also way too prevalent), but every bone in her shoulder joints was clearly defined. That's just... horrible. And it was so much worse from how she looked just a year ago in "Ai Suru". I had already been worried about her, and then this? :/

Yeah, I worry about the otokoyaku too. It's not as apparent, because they wear more concealing clothing, and I think that probably lets it go too far without anyone noticing... :( Mizu's "Brilliant Dreams" spends an hour on her love of belts, which means way too many shots of how her size -14 jeans are just falling off of her.

I know. =( I'm pretty sensitive to it too... unfortunately I actually seem to have a better ED-dar than a gayday. =P I really worry about her; she's so very talented, and so clearly incredibly driven and ambitious. She exudes perfectionism the way some people sweat. Those qualities are both part of what make me admire her, and what make me virtually certain that she has an eating disorder. And I want so badly for her to be happy and healthy...

Ume has this individuality that makes me adore her, but I think you hit the nail on the head there -- she's definitely a perfectionist.

Her fan club needs to look after her better. Ah, she's probably one of those ladies who doesn't think much of the fan club tradition.... She seems too independent. ;)

Very true. I'd get the same gut reaction about seeing a picture of anyone who looked as thin as that, but because they're Takarasienne, that immediately makes their welfare fan business, I guess. XD

And, okay I admit, any Soragumisei you single out in particular just makes me dance with happiness. ^^

But... Ume-chan = ;____; Sometimes I don't think I have a right to talk, since I love a skinny baby. But I argue, Alice has always been skinny and thus It Must Be Genetic, you know, high metabolism or something. Anyway. Ume-chan. I love my top musumeyaku, but she definitely needs to eat. T____T

Next time I'll make you watch Valencia, and you still won't think Tani is top star material, but I'm sure you'd find other people to love on. ;-)

I admit I don't know many other than the upperclassmen and particular babies I hear you Soragumi gals fangirl over, but.... And may I reiterate again that Yuumi Hiro is ginormous? <3

Alice is thin, but from the photos and things, she didn't seem dangerously, every-bone-sticking-out thin. I think that's the critical difference here. And, man their metabolisms must go like crazy, dancing 12+ hours every day and skipping meals....

Yes! Sometime I need to see Valencia. Hot Spanishness is love.
