This summary, in typical I-saw-it-only-once fashion, will be a bit out of chronological order, and I probably have some mistakes in it of things I heard wrong, or remembered wrong, or simply missed. ;) Jenny, thanks for letting me watch your DVD.

Summary: )

What I Thought: )

And the Revue:

From what other people said, I was expecting this to be a rehashing of other revues. And I was expecting to fall asleep or wander off to wash dishes fairly soon in, as most French-named revues do to me. But it had just enough Fujii-spirit to keep me alert and attentive. It moves very quickly and at a fairly quick pace even within numbers, and was actually rather nice. And now I shall have to kill you all for having admitted this deep, dark secret. *grin*

But, watching this and thinking of the last few Tsuki revues, I have come to realize that Hanagumi doesn't really dance very often these days, do they? Hm. Yet another very good reason to bring Tomu home♥

One small article up so far. The parade photos will probably go up tomorrow, when the press goes in to work. ;)

Mizu came down the Grand Staircase in a black tuxedo, rather than hakama. Somehow, I suspected she might.

She said: "I have no regrets about my life in Takarazuka."

She also talked again about wanting a job where she moves, this time mentioning the stage or dance, hinting that she may become an actress.

She's leaving the country on the 14th, going abroad to rest.

PS: Ah, they're up. I'm sad, though, that their new limits mean they didn't post any photos of the other taidansha. I wanted to see Shiyuu Mirei and Rudou Masa in their hakama. *sigh*

Some photos and articles on Ayane's graduation at the Grand Theater. Boy, it really was pouring that night.

The articles say about 1200 fans were gathered in the pouring rain to see the Sayonara Parade.

During her final speech, Ayane said (slightly different versions depending on the paper): "Takarazuka was the home of my heart, my everything. I was really happy to be by Yuu-san's side." Then when Matobu hugged her shoulders, she couldn't hold in the tears any more.

Someone in one of the Zuka message boards put up the taidan aisatsu for Last Play. These are message board posts, and I wasn't at either raku, so I can't vouch for their authenticity, but:

I've been holding onto this show for three (four?) years now. Because once I watched it, that was it. No more Bun-chan & Mahiru top combi to look forward to. (I don't think I could sit through Junjou, even for them) Konno Mahiru I've adored in every shinko lead I've seen her in. She was an amazing musumeyaku; I can understand why she had seven! And Bun-chan, Bun-chan... So sweet♥ My fuzzy-sweater otokoyaku♥

It was well worth the wait! I'd totally forgotten that it was a Masatsuka-Sensei musical. Ahahahah, it all comes back to my love-affair with Masatsuka, doesn't it?

Memories of Barcelona / On the Fifth

I shouldn't really call these reviews any more, when I can't be bothered to do more than ramble incoherently. Ah well. ;)

What I Thought of Barcelona: )

This one is a watch again and again and again kind of show.

Emao Yuu Sayonara Show )

Just some things...

Average kenkyuuka of a new nibante for the past 20 years )

From which I think we can only draw one conclusion: Tsukigumi has always been weird.

Also interesting that the only other solid nibante to retire without making top in the past 20 years was also ken-17 when she retired, and her replacement was ken-12 and only nibante for one show. If the rumor mills are as right about Mizu's retirement in the summer '10 show as they were about Yumiko, and making a big assumption that no transfers happen, that means Kimu will be following the exact same pattern as Anju Mira. ;)

And, because I've seen a lot of folks talking about it -- Sayonara Shows for the past 20 years )

*sigh* Full points to the rumor mill -- Ayabuki Mao is indeed retiring at the end of Solferino, on April 25th. An as yet untitled dinner show for her in Takarazuka (3/11~12) and Tokyo (3/13~14) has been announced, and a sayonara show is planned for after the senshuuraku performances in the Grand Theater and Tokyo Theater.

Asako

ekusudei: (play without words)
And speaking of messages to fans which I rather love, December's Graph is full of all of the Tsukigumisei's farewell interviews, messages, and talks. Asako chose the other three senior members of the troupe, the ones who share a dressing room with her, for her farewell talk.

Hopefully someone will have the time to translate them for the community soon, but in the meantime:

From Sena Jun's Last Interview

There is a "combi" system, isn't there. Since Ayano Kanami left in '08 you haven't had a single partner. What do you think of that situation?

At first, I also was of various minds on it. I was subjected to a lot of criticism for it. But as a result of it, more musumeyaku were able to play an active role, and I think it opened up a lot of possibilities to show that this was a format that could also exist. After this, whether they do it or not, it is an option for them. I think that isn't a bad thing, since there are many views.

Lastly, a message for your fans, please.

I am entirely grateful for these past 18 years, where you helped to raise the otokoyaku named Sena Jun. You shared my joy in moments of happiness, and you shared my sorrow in moments of sadness, together we overcame it all... I think being able to give power like this to someone is amazing. To be able to convey my gratitude to everyone who did this for me, well, I hope to give you a good performance until the very end, so please come with me to the end.

And in Ryouga Haruhi's last interview, as [livejournal.com profile] lliri_blanc pointed out and translated, Ahi used her "message to the fans" corner to give a shout-out to the foreign fans♥
ekusudei: (NBN - Tomu & Gun-chan)
I think [livejournal.com profile] princesslucia did an amazing job with her summary of the press conference. There's only one thing I want to really add here, because I think it's a beautiful message.

Q. A message to your fans
A. I'm full of too much gratitude to convey in words. Just as the Takarazuka Revue exists because of its fans, I've been able to come this far because of the fans who have supported me. Right now I'm simply full of gratitude. My job is to give energy and dreams to the audience, but I have also been given so much energy and courage from the audience. Please support me until my day of graduation.

I'm not sure if anyone posted this link before, but there are absolutely *enormous* photos of Tsukigumi raku on this blog entry, once you click on them. And the angle is different than the usual news photos, so I think they're interesting.

Also, EMAO (The Artist Formerly Known as Emao Yuu) is going to star in a movie about the Sakai Noriko scandal, due out next year. Which is just, wow. The dust from the scandal hasn't even all settled yet. o_0 The movie is titled "Setsuna" (A Moment), and is due out in January. Emao will be playing a female reporter chasing the story.

Oops, sorry, last one tonight, promise!

Just wanted to point out to anyone not on her f-list, that [livejournal.com profile] inbuninbu translated an article on Tani's taidan conference on Sunday. She was kind enough to let me link it here.

I've translated Asako's press conference, and stuck it with the announcement on the TakaWiki.

Here's the original, with the photos.

You know, she looks happy and healthy, and not at all half-dead as so many recent top stars have at their conferences. I think she's been looking after herself well, and pacing herself, which is how she's managed to survive the top star schedule for so long. Or maybe she just looks good under that kind of lighting. Well, either way, good for her♥

I'm counting Monday as finished. Three more days! I can drudge through three days, right? ♥

Yup, yup, I heard the news about Asako early this afternoon after it went up on the Hankyu site. But I was busy watching Casablanca with Char, who had never seen it. You people who have never seen it are crazy. It has CLAUDE RAINS. It has PETER LORRE. It has SYDNEY GREENSTREET. It has BOGEY. Obviously you had a deprived childhood.

Anyway, Asako, yep, retiring. I'll miss Asako's Tsukigumi. And this'll make two shows in a row which are impossible to get tickets for on Sundays. Asako, please, think of the little people! ;) Now, who's going with her? Given only three retirements with Elisabeth, and two with Yume, I'm predicting Tsuki will have a bunch.
